Office Administrator – Permanent, Full Time
NLPSPA is a membership association, managed by a Board of Directors, on behalf of public sector pensioners. The primary purpose is to engage with their former employer, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, to ensure the security of pensions and health benefits as well as to lobby for improved benefits, including indexation of pensions.
Main Responsibilities: This position assumes direct responsibility for the daily management of administrative/business functions of the office, associated records management and financial operations as well as provides secretarial support to the Board of Directors. There is ongoing communication with public sector pensioners as well as many other stakeholders/partners. The employee reports directly to the President. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Requirements and Qualifications: Applicants require a Diploma in Office Administration or related field and must be proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, and proficient in the use of Simply Accounting software. Keyboarding accuracy is essential. Other requirements include: strong organizational abilities, the ability to adapt to changing priorities, the ability to work independently and to demonstrate initiative and sound judgment. Well developed written, verbal and technical skills are required. Experience working in a nonprofit organization as well as a working knowledge of retirement issues would be assets. A police records check will be required prior to any offer of employment.
